Let,

8 years ago, A’s age = 4x, B’s = 5x

So,

Present age of A = (4x+8) and B’s = (5x+8)

Let,

Present age of C = p

ATQ,

(5x+8)/p = 4/5

Or, 25x -4p = – 40 —-(1)

Now,

P – (4x+8) = 20

Or, 4x – p = – 28 —(2)

(1) – (2)×4,

25x – 4p – 16x + 4p = – 40 + 112

Or, 9x = 72

Or, x = 8

And, p = 4×8+28 = 60

Present age of C = 60

And, present age of A = (4×8+8) = 40

And, present age of B = (5×8+8) = 48

So, A + B + C= 40+48+60= 148
